Michael Discusses Aspects of the Water Act with the Environment Minister

Water has been a hot topic in Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows, specifically the regulations around extraction for agricultural purposes. Today Michael had an opportunity to discuss the relevant legislation, The Water Act, with Environment Minister Barry Penner and in particular the issue of instream flow requirements.

Michael Addresses Water Management in the House

Today in the House John Slater, MLA for Boundary-Similkameen, rose today in the house to speak about the importance of water and the government’s plans for water management.

Naturally, Michael rose in response to that members statement drawing attention to the current shortcomings in watermanagment especially in the case of the North Alouette here in Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows.

Michael Talks Water in the Legislature

As many citizens of Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows are aware, the ongoing saga of the North Alouette has cast a light on the failings of how the Province regulates water.

In speaking to the Miscellaneous Statutes Amendment Act, 2010, Michael chose to focus on the amendments to the Water Act and draw attention to intrigue occurring around the North Alouette.
