The Agricultural Advisory Committee is having a meeting tomorrow night regarding the Pelton industrial proposal. Steve Pelton will be making a presentation to the committee about his application. This meeting is open to the public so all interested parties should try and attend!

The public forum I hosted in Maple Ridge Wednesday night was well attended. Families clearly expressed their desire to keep our paediatric and obstetric beds. Fraser Health did a lot of talking about improving services and how they hadn’t made any decisions. However, when questioned directly, they would not confirm that no beds will be removed from paediatrics and obstetrics at RMH. We are circulating a petition in the community over the summer to further enforce our message to Fraser Health. The petition is not at my office but you can find locations where it can be found through the “Help Save Ridge Meadows maternity Ward” group on Facebook.

Recently Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows NDP MLA Michael Sather journeyed to the Incomappleux Valley near Revelstoke to examine one of the few remaining interior rain forests. While examining the potential of having this rare ecosystem priotected he and fellow NDP MLA Guy Gentner wound up executing a rescue mission!
